Give a Little Love

There's no reason to sugar-coat it, being hungry sucks. Your stomach hurts, you feel like you can't make a coherent thought, and you begin to get hunger induced rage, better known as hangry. For most of us, when we're hungry, we either go to the fridge and make some food or go out and get that taco that's horrible for you. Most of us don't think twice about food. It's always there and when it's not, we go to the grocery.

For some, that's not an option. Sometimes they have to decide between if they're going to pay the heating bill or go to the grocery so their family can eat twice a day.

That's where VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People) steps in. VEAP, according to their website, provides "a range of services to help low-income people meet immediate needs and reach their long-term goal of stability."

VEAP steps in to help working-poor families who make too much for welfare to make ends meet.

Now, through March 31, Richfield Bloomington Honda is partnering with VEAP and making donations to VEAP's food programs by having customers donate non-perishable food items. VEAP's food program offers a full pantry and allows 7,000 patrons a month to discretely choose what food items they need for that week.

Each item donated by a customer will knock $5 off their service price.
